Did you know you can have a healthy heart and still be at risk for heart disease? That's correct, your age and diet can affect how your hearts health continues as you age. Young people who consume diets of heavily processed food for years become the group with a high risk for heart disease and stroke due to high blood pressure and high cholesterol. As of now the CDC recommends a calorie intake of less than 2,300 mg a day. Unfortunately most Americans take in 3,400 mg a day, that is way too much! Good news though, you can lower your risk by eating foods with less sodium and saturated fats. Eat more food that is higher in fiber and try working out 3 to 4 days a week, or at least walking daily.

Eating better is proven to stop the onset of type 2 diabetes, many people who are overweight and obese suffer from this or at least pre-diabetes.  So it really is up to us as adults to help protect our children and ourselves from these health risk, just by changing our eating habits. I wanted to bring attention and write  a little about these topics while studying food production in the Untied States. It is relevant to this topic because we are currently learning about different types of food production and how these types of products are grown and farmed,  how they directly affect us and our health. So be proactive about your heart health, get a check up or a test to see if you can do something now to stay healthy, or be more active in your health goals. Or just enjoy a walk and get some fresh air.

  4. This was a great read. I have definitely been guilty of eating higher then 2,300 calories a day but not everyday. This is a very important topic as we just learned how dangerous it can be to eat some of the meat and produce from the grocery stores.

Blog post #8 Why are pink diamonds pink?

http://www.diamondbuyers.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Diamond-Buyers-Blog-Pink-Diamond-Facts.png   Have you ever thought why pink diamonds are pink? Or why any diamond has a color? Not so long ago the only diamonds anyone really cared about were white. As we see now though, the other colors have became more popular too, like yellow and brown or blue. Mostly women began to wear the diamonds in mixes of colors and a variety of designs, but the demand for rare pink diamonds increased, making it more valuable.    The rare pink diamonds come from the Argyle Mines, in northern Australia, only a few are produced each year. Studies on the pink diamond have shown no real results on why the diamonds are pink. One idea or theory is there was an incredible cataclysmic event, of two continents coming together and pulling apart again, leaving a volcanic scar on the land, and this is where the pink diamond and other diamonds come from in Australia. Geologist have dated this area and m...

Blog #5 Beauty Blogger, Mayhem Commercial

I chose the Beauty Blogger commercial from mayhem, well since it is a blog. There he sits, in front of mirror curling his hair for a mermaid how to. Commenting on how he will get a ton of likes and a ton of thumbs down emojies, referring to the social media audiance. Putting the curling iron down on the towel in front of him it catches fire. Now he makes his exit after stating that with out the correct covrage of insurance you will be left with a mess and thats the "Mayhem" moto, "Be better protected from Mayhem, like me" He puts on the girls glasses and walks out leaving the towel on fire. I believe that American culture has become a watch and see what happens, probaby due to social media. These Mayhem commercials strike us as funny mostly becuase of the way the actor portrays the accidents. We laugh at the context of the siutation, as we gasp or react the incident that occurs. We as the audience are being targetted to influence us that simple accidents can ...
