Mostly women began to wear the diamonds in mixes of colors and a variety of designs, but the demand for rare pink diamonds increased, making it more valuable. The rare pink diamonds come from the Argyle Mines, in northern Australia, only a few are produced each year. Studies on the pink diamond have shown no real results on why the diamonds are pink.
